About Borneo Island

Kalimantan or known as Borneo internationally is the third largest island in the world which is located north of Java Island and west of Sulawesi Island.

Kalimantan has dense forests which are natural habitats for orangutans, Bornean elephants, Bornean rhinos, porcupines, deer, tapirs and several endangered species. Because of its natural wealth, the Indonesian Kalimantan region is one of the six economic corridors proclaimed by the government of the Republic of Indonesia in which Kalimantan is designated as the center for production and processing of mining products and a national energy barn in Indonesia.

Not only that, Kalimantan is also the center of Kratom cultivation, which is a type of plant that is widely used as herbal medicine and has been consumed for tens to hundreds of years.
